Most Wanted Feature

Hello all... this thread is for discussing features you would like to see in cube, and in particular those that you find most urgent. If lots of people have the same urgent requests, I may give it priority to be implemented.

i was thinking maybe we can put our own in.

i was wanting a sky box changer, considering there are so many (thx to me =) to choose f=)rom, like a skybox next/prev, or maps have there own, so when making a map, u choose ur boxey =)

Just write a bat file to swap the skyboxes.

ok, i dont understand that, major gramatical problems, you skybox is up on the cubeworld. and its not hard to change sky boxes, i could just make a script that willrun on IIS, and get it to chane the box ever Xmins, 2mins of asp coding and i have a skybox changer, but not everyone has win 2k pro or xp pro

all i want is so that i press a key, and it changes the box.

Not sure if this has been brought up and discussed so I apologise if this is an old question. Are there plans to trigger events (besides doors)? For example, on the death of a monster a door opens or an item is spawned.

One cool thing about Quake and ZDoom is the ability to build dynamic environments. I would love to have the ability to throw a switch, have the floor lower into some water (since the water is height dependent, this would be very easy to map) and have to fight your way out.

One other thing: is lava, slime, et all, in the plans?

You can't have the floor disappear from under someone's feet yet, because the disappearing stuff isn't true moving architecture but only switches between SOLID and SPACE and nobody can stand on solid, so the best you can do is have a wall disappear to reveal some water.

You could look for textures of slme, lava, etc, there's plently of free ones and I have some.

Ok, this would be cool and easy to implement:
look for MODs in the /packages/sounds directory and play them in random order (instead of just cubez0r.xm)
btw, on that note I think musicvol is broken in this release -- on my sysem it has no effect whatsoever.
