Capture needs a redo

Hi

If there is one thing i hate, it's the Capture mode. In theory it would be great to have an arcadey version of battlefield where the capture points hand out weapons and armor, but what it really boils down to in practice is a bunch of guys standing around their already captured points and defending it with the weapon it throws out, or attempting to raid other capture points without much hope of success. in fact the most success comes when the point happens to be unoccupied.

It's really boring, and really really frustrating, especially with the lack of good team communication.

What i would suggest is changing the way that weapons and armor are given out. instead of slowly gaining an arsenal by standing around, the ammunition and protection would be attained through credits. one simply gets credits for making kills and captures and also a preliminary one whenever you respawn, and cashes them in at the chosen weapons point by running through the pillar itself, not in the nearby vicinity. each time you do this you will gain an ammo box worth of ammo and perhaps 25% armor for one credit. capturing would be done normally.

What this would encourage players to do would be NOT to camp, but to be more aggressive and competitive among teammates (who's going to get the kill?) and therefore the game will be more rewarding for the individual.

No longer will attackers have to face a big fleshy mass when trying to capture a point! No longer will you have to sit bored at your own base!

i dunno tell me what you think.

Others seem to enjoy it, so why change it?

if attackers come to a base to attack it then the defender get credits as they kill the attackers, thus their weapons replenish - so I can't see this discouraging camping at a base.

This would just move the camping froma capture point to the ammo point.

Regen capture is well setup.

Controlling capture points for ammo and armor. Regening it at a perfect set rate.

Old capture is still a little nerfed and probably why it's not played much. The time for ammo spawns is ridiculously long. With regen you start getting ammo immediately after capturing a point.

I do like that the old capture auto picks up ammo now, but it's still usually run around witha hand gun while waiting a significant amount of time for a little ammo to spawn.

Then ammo should either be a constant, or dependant on kills/respawns, I think anyway.

I think it's fine.

And that idea you came up with is even worse: people with kills get more ammo - people with ammo get MORE kills - - people with no kills get no ammo - people with no ammo get no kills

Hadn't actually played plain capture with latest release.

You start out with a couple of weapons with limited ammo.

This helps make up for the time that the ammo takes to spawn from a capture point once captured.

Capture is pretty decent now IMO.
