I have an intermentint problem i will be sitting there playing cube and my window or FS will close and the console i launched the program from displays
Fatal signal: Segmentation Fault (SDL Parachute Deployed)
Some times I can play for an hr or two, other times only 5minutes.

I've never heard of Cube seg faulting. Get new drivers.

I've had the same error before myself (though only when loading cube) i havent a clue why it does it though

The same was happening to me, and it started when I upgraded from XFree86 4.2 to 4.3. In my case, it's the driver for Rage 128 cards (part of the Direct Rendering Interface), and most likely that driver took on a bug in the area of texture processing. Anyway, I told DRI to use an older version of the driver file (so no need to downgrade the package) and all cleared up. I have instructions (and an image of the old Rage 128 driver file) if interested.

I finally licked the error , i just needed some heatsink grease. Everything runs rock solid now.
