I have an intermentint problem i will be sitting there playing cube and my window or FS will close and the console i launched the program from displays
Fatal signal: Segmentation Fault (SDL Parachute Deployed)

Some times I can play for an hr or two, other times only 5minutes.

Says it's the drivers. It's always the drivers.

Accidentally run over you mom while backing out of the driveway? Get new video card drivers!

The same was happening to me, and it started when I upgraded from XFree86 4.2 to 4.3. In my case, it's the driver for Rage 128 cards (part of the Direct Rendering Interface), and most likely that driver took on a bug in the area of texture processing. Anyway, I told DRI to use an older version of the driver file (so no need to downgrade the package) and all cleared up. I have instructions (and an image of the old Rage 128 driver file) if interested.
