question about flying

I have 1 simple question

has any one ever modded the game into a air combat sim?

disclaimer: I'm not asking for help, or suggesting anyone do anything. I just want to know if its been done before.

To the best of my knowledge, no.

Although I have (as I'm sure many others have as well) made maps which were simply cubes of water for 3-D fighting.

Me neither, but I've certainly thought about it.

All you'd need is vertical control, zero gravity, and constant forward motion.

This idea reminds me of Airquake back in the q1 days...good fun. Sauer wouldn't need much to be a flight sim :)
