Hi! I am beginning work on a mod of saurbraten, and started playing around with replacing the weapons. I have exported a model from blender, and I got it into the game, in place of the chaingun/assualt rifle. However, I can not get the texture onto it. I have my md3.cfg file set up perfectly, and the only thing that I am uncertain about is the name of the mesh. I actually use wings to model, then export to a obj or 3ds and import into blender, and THEN export to a MD3. The gun (a G360) is in two parts: the barrel, and the gun. The gun's name is cube1. So, my .cfg file looks like this:
md3load G36.md3
md3skin cube1 G36.jpg mask.jpg
I have double checked it, and no matter what I do, I doesn't work. If you want it, I can upload my model and the config file.
The other question I have is how to apply bumpmapping to textures. I have created a few maps, but how do I use bumpmaps for the textures? In the other maps, it is all bumpmapped and spec mapped, but in my map, the only thing that seems to have a bumpmap or a spec map is the map models.
My final question, (wheew.) is what the heck happened to Bloom in the CTF editon. It no longer exists. Do I need to do something to get it on? It used to be in the FX menu.

Bumpmaps: http://sauerbraten.org/docs/editref.html#texture
Bloom: /setfullscreenshader bloom [intensity] (or bw, invert, sobel or gbr)
Take a look at the docs first next time ;)

As for the model, I tried both. Both failed. I will upload the model soon. Just the chaingun folder?
As for bumpmapping, I figured that out shortly after posting. :D As for bloom, thanks alot. I did check the docs, but couldn't find it. Thanks again.

Firstly, remove all files not dependant on your model. This will make it easier to navigate. Secondly, the name of the mesh is incorrect in the md3.cfg. The md3skin line should read;
md3skin cube1_cube1_auv_cube1 thompson.jpg mask.jpg
Make sure you have the correct name of the mesh. You can also delete lines 1 to 24 in the cfg if you do not need shader parameters. Also, make sure you have tagged the model properly, or it won't attach to the hands which will probably not fit your model to begin with as they are custom fitted to each weapon.

Ok, NOW you are making me look bad. :D Thanks. I wasn't looking at the mesh in Wings. Thanks for the help geartrooper. I am going to change the hands, before I was just trying to get a damn texture on the thing. :D Thanks again!
