only admin can kick ?

Is it possible to change something in the code, so that only admin can have privileges - kick, change mastermode etc. I searched a lot in the code and found some SETMASTER function in fpsserver.h, but i`m not very familiar with programming. Is it possible to announce that someone wants to approve master, or even automatically kick him?

Yes. Except for the mastermode part, this is already the case.

I'm not sure why you'd want to automatically kick someone tries to approve a master, though...

Actually, mastermode with authentication works well. It gives a community-wide pool of people who the community feel comfortable trusting with master privileges. Whereas rcon has the immense disadvantage of needing each user to be pre-approved to fix problems on the server.

1. Define "secure".
2. Code it. An rcon system alone would not provide this (that would be a modified ban system).
3. A legitimate player should already HAVE master.
4. Already possible for the most part, and an rcon system would not implement this (that would be a modified voting system).

Yet, if you actually look at the master system, it has the potential to be far superior to the classic rcon system.

Don't feed the troll. ;)
As you say, it works pretty well as-is.

Trolls are like Flood. To get rid of them, deprive them of their food.

Luckily you don't have to kill everyone to do that.

Yeah, you're right. The amusing part is that he still can't refute that if someone responsible already had master, none of the problems he mentioned would happen. The obvious conclusion is that either:

1. He is not responsible. This has been proven repeatedly, so we can accept this as truthful.

2. He does not take master when joining a server. This has been proven by his repeated complaints about sudden actions taken by new masters, so we can also accept this as truthful.

These, taken together, give us our next conclusion:

He has no grounds for complaint. Thus, you are correct: He is trolling. Unfortunately, I have a bad habit of teasing trolls into untenable positions, which more often than not appears the same as feeding them.

I told you they're funny when they think they're in control. :)
