Bug Reports

by eihrul on 09/03/2008 01:41, 1171 messages, last message: 08/15/2021 02:13, 713293 views, last view: 12/09/2021 06:22

Please post your bug reports in here.

With your bug report, please submit the following information:

1) OS: Your operating system, i.e. Linux, Windows, or otherwise and what version you are using.

2) 3D card: The 3D card you are using. If you do not know, this is printed on the "Renderer:" line in the console when Sauerbraten starts up.

3) The edition of Sauerbraten you are using, i.e. Assassin edition, CVS as of a particular date, or otherwise.

4) Error information: If you are on Windows, a pop-up message showing filenames and line numbers should show up when Sauerbraten crashes; if possible, post a screenshot or a copy/paste of this. If on Linux, post a log of the startup info from the console, including relevant errors or any info you might have discovered. If on MacOS X, please post the crash log if applicable.

5) A description of the problem and how to reproduce it. Please give as much detail as possible on how someone can recreate the problem, in as certain terms as you can. If someone else can't reproduce the problem, it is unlikely he can fix it or tell you what is wrong.

#1000: Re: BOTS!

by Pyccna on 02/13/2013 07:30, refers to #999

I'm not sure about which patches I have, I downloaded the Collect off the main website on January 8th.

(1,000th post. :D!)

Last patch released on Fabruary 3rd.

Your "January 8th" pretty much screams "I AM PATCHLESS HALP"

http://sourceforge.net/projects/sauerbraten/files/sauerbraten/2013_01_04/

you should probably download patch_01_04_to_02_03 and see if your problems are fixed.

Will do. I'm guessing my last report about the Undo Problem was just me being outdated too. :P

Update: Patch didn't totally fix the Undo. It still flubs with complex geometry. :(

#1006: problem with map "frozen"

by bbk on 02/15/2013 16:38

I've played bot matches on frozen and all the bots that spawn in the lower area don't move/come to life.

Seems to be a problem with the waypoints. They are pretty minimalistic on frozen.

There are other maps with similar problems. On arbana for example it tells me that 1985 have been loaded, but I don't even see a single one. My bots do not move at all.

Arbana was rescaled by our dear eihrul because he didn't like a sea so large and wanted to reduce the amount of lightmaps wasted. He apparently forgot about the waypoints, resulting in them being in a completely wrong position.

#1010: suaerbraten link

by millerthegorilla on 02/23/2013 11:57

hi, just compiled and installed sauerbraten collect edition. Tried to create a desktop link, but can't run the suaerbraten_unix file from a directory other than the install folder (/home/Games/sauerbraten). I'm guessing that the client uses relative paths on install. Is there a compiler flag that I've missed? I've also tried setting the path variable in the .desktop file (lxde spin fedora) to the ~/.sauerbraten directory and the game folder but to no avail. Should I set an environment variable?
Many thanks.

Look in the sauerbrateion_unix script at the top. Change the SAUER_DATA dir.

#1013: only 2 server found

by GulliverOnTop on 03/02/2013 23:55

1. windows 7
2. AMD Radeon HD 6800 Series
3. collect edition
4. none
5. when i'm looking for servers, only two are shown; without any players on them. i can't imagine that nobody is playing sauerbraten anymore so there musst be a bug

Do you think a RTFM would help to fix the problem?

Weird.

Does your firewall block the required ports or something?
