Internet play

Hi-

I am unable to connect to a multi player (newtork) as when I click on Multiplayer a list of IP addresses come up, but there is a note New Protocol, can\\\\\\\'t connect.

Any help would be appreciated.

make sure you have the latest version of Sauerbraten.

Hi-

I have the lastest version I found on the Cube 2 web page.

I am running Vista and Ubuntu. The game runs great in Vista. I am having the trouble in Ubuntu. I believe I have the latest version. I got it from Sauerbraten
from the Linux option.

New Protocol means that the version you have is old. I'd verify that your running the CTF edition in linux.

Also if you had it installed before uninstall.

If you installed it through the Ubuntu repositories then there is a very high chance that it is not up to date. To get the newest version you will have to go to the download section here on the forum (link on the left) and download the linux version. Unfortunately this means that there won't be any nice menu shortcuts unless you make them yourself (which isn't hard).

The version in the repos is up to date (CTF, it's dated 20080620 (July 20, 2008)).
Though you're right, it often takes a long time for it to get updated.
