BUG - Projectiles exploding before the player

by Gargaj on 02/17/2003 16:20, 5 messages, last message: 12/06/2003 16:38, 1105 views, last view: 04/25/2024 19:42

We recently installed Cube on our PC's with my roommate, and for my PC it works fine, but for him, it's a bit bugged, because when he fires e.g. a rocket, it explodes in front of him, making it impossible to kill anyone. (Same goes of course for all the weapons.)
It's a 1Ghz AMD with a Radeon 9500Pro, WinXP installed.
Anyone having a similiar problem?

New drivers won't necessarily fix this problem. (but do still get the latest)

It's a well known problem only affecting ATi cards. If you run Windows, I believe Aardappel has updated binaries. (though I'm not sure he is redistributing them)

I have this exact same problem with projectiles blowing right infront of me. Any ideas on how to fix it?

I'm running Mandrake Linux 9.2 with the latest drivers for my ATi Radeon 8500 under XFree86 4.3.0 if thats of any help.

Besides this problem everything works fine. This engine looks pretty cool btw!
