sauerbraten extremely slow on 3 different computers

I have 3 desktops, and none of them can run sauerbraten bearably.
Only one can actually start it, and it usually gets around 10-12fps.
I played cube 1 on 2 of them fine.

Here are the system's specs:
Fastest:
Pentium III 600mhz
120mbs SDram
Geforce 2 64mb (AGP)
OS: Kubuntu 7.10
Middle:
Pentium II 266mhz
64mbs SDram
8mb ELSA AGP video card (Meant to be used with 3d glasses, which I have.)
OS: Sadly, Windows 98, which it can barely run.
Low:
Cyrix 140mhz
512kb's unknown type of ram.
Unidentified PCI 3d graphics card.
OS: skimmed Gentoo through console.
This one couldn't do cube 1.

Any ideas why Cube 2 will only run on my fast machine, and at unbareable speeds?
I'm sure I've done something wrong in the installs, my fast PC can do Quake III on medium.

You could probably make a computer better computer for cheap that can just play sauerbraten on low settings.

There is absolutely no way your two slower computers could even run this game at all. As eihrul said, only hope is the fastest computer.

Not to be overly negative, but even your fastest computer is still lagging really far behind, and will barely run this game in my opinion.
You are definitely going to need to upgrade your video card at absolute minimum, sorry mate.

A good cheap video card you could get for the fastest one is an nVidia FX5200

My iMac G3 runs sauer at "okay" fps. It's a 350mhz w/ 768 RAM and 8MB of VRAM. Best upgrade your drivers and RAM
