You really don't need to install it on linux. Just unzip the folder somewhere and run the file "sauerbraten_unix" in the main folder.

Well that's for sauerbraten (cube 2). It's the same for cube, but you use "cube_unix" instead.
Anyway I'm sure that's somewhere in the readme...

Open up whatever Ubuntu uses for a terminal, go to wherever you put Sauer (e.g. if you put it in /home/user/sauerbraten, execute "cd /home/user/sauerbraten"), and execute "./sauerbraten_unix".

That package is almost a year out of date.
The one in the Hardy repos is dated Dec 27, 2007, so not quite as out-of-date... Is that Assassin?
Hey, I could probably do some .deb packaging for Sauer... Would that be useful?
The Gutsy package description says "Sauerbraten might be considered unsuitable children." One might say that... ;)

I'm pretty sure dec 27 07 is Assassin. And yes, one might say that Sauer is somewhat unsuitable for children. Much less so than, say, F.E.A.R. Combat, though.
