I need a little help downloading Cube2?

Hello,

I have a problem and hope someone could help me?

The problem is that like anyone would do is download Cube2 and install it, but that is another thing, after I installed Cube 2 I went searching around the folders to find the EXE. After that I went and loaded it up, but It appears with a Error, and it seems that the EXE can not find the "Core textures".

I also downloaded the Assasin edition.
Do I have to download somthing else to get these "Core textures"?

Sauerbraten is pretty much an average download size (Nexuiz is about the same, Alien Arena is around 167MB, Warsow is however under 100MB, World of Padman weighs in at 550, Urban Terror is 700 (!!), and OpenArena is around 200), so I don't see the problem with download size. 'Course, America's Army is a whopping 2.5 gig (as Demosthenes pointed out), which is the largest download of them all (I think F.E.A.R. Combat is around one gigabyte).

Plus, in my opinion, America's Army gameplay is kinda (read: astoundingly) slow. Like the load time.

And then you've got almost any MMO to consider... with the exception of ones like Runescape, which don't really count, I don't think I've ever seen a free-to-play MMO less than 700 megs. Maybe I haven't scouted around long enough, but most are pretty dang hefty. And then any subscription MMO is probably going to be even more than that (WoW is what, at least 4 gigs now? I can't keep up, it's been a long time).

Shadow of Legend - 1.8G

Of course, there are countless others, but I don't have time to look at all the download sizes. But I (and the rest of us) see your point.

no found the sound of the err I knew it was missing the runtime for MS visual c++ as in msvcr71.dll msvcr80.dll ect ect
these files should be installed when you run the installer to prevent this from happening

I've downloaded SB many times and installed it on more computers than I can count. I've never had an issue.

1. If it takes you 3 hours to download you must be on dial-up. I hope you did not miss any phone calls while downloading :)

2. Point number (1) is the problem.

3. It works just fine.

4. You just go play AA. Maybe the Army will give you a call.

5. I'll show you who's a noob, meet you for a DM.....Oh wait you can't install it ... lol

BTW. talking about MMORPG's I've been playing "Shaiya" for a few weeks. I'm very impressed with this game. Yes, the download is ~700MB and then it updates after the install, this adds another 200 or so MB.

Having said this it's basically a free ripoff of WOW. I think the company makes money by selling rare items for cash via a points system.

Anyway if you're into this type of game it's worth a look :)

Actually, Regnum Online, which I was playing when I had time, is only like 350MB or so to download. Worth looking at if you're into that sort of thing.

While you're all suddenly so fascinated by MMORPGs, eternal lands is about 80MB, and that's not including the sound and music packs. Planeshit is about 250 MB. they both also quite nicely have linux clients as well. and I think OSX too.

i bought the disk for AA from America off eBay so i don't have to download u dumb a** h***s and i went out and bought Dark Messiah Might and Magic so im gonna finish the campaign and then play it online sorry
about that s*** i sead b4 casue cube 2 just angered me so much i wasted the hole day download installing and finding out what was wrong so i just gave up and sward the c*** out of myself but i still think this game is s*** go and buy like Dark Messiah Might and Magic so u don't have to download all these exes and installs and c*** or maybe gears of war, unless ur a noob with no money and a shit pc.
