My Computer says that it is lacking many of the features in sauerbraten, I don\\\'t even have lighting.

CPU: Pentium D 2.8ghz

I just reinstalled my drivers, seems that Spring refuses to boot, and sauerbraten goes straight to lightless. I'm going to try it again and hope it works.

I checked to limit opengl extension names, although, I am still running opengl 1.5 when mine supports 2.1, I\'m assuming that\'s just the game.

No, you want extension limits OFF.

The game uses the 1.5 rendering path, so your assumption there is correct.

#7: Vista?

by CC_machine#cookiesaredamned on 02/17/2008 12:12

are you using Vista?
it's important... OpenGL is slightly broken on Vista.

Is that a genuine Mac or a Hackintosh?

#9: E-machine

Geniune E-machine Running Windows XP Home Service Pack 2, 2.8ghz Pentium D die on die dual processor, 1536mb ram [1024+512]@533mhz, 80gb harddrive@7200rpm:2mb cache, ATI Radeon Xpress 200 Chipset, Realtek HD Onboard Audio, Realtek RTL8139 Family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC, 300w PSU, Samsung DVD/CD-R/RW Combo Drive, MSI NX8600GT-TD512EZ/D2[Shader Overclock].

That is every single spec of my highly modified e-machine w3506, which included ripping out the celeron, and adding a new cpu, more ram, and a cheap 8 series card.

Sauerbraten works on my pc, after turning extensions off, like I said in an earlier post.

If that's outstanding, then wow, my PC must be awesome.

I think he means it's not a performance issue.

BTW, enabling extensions on XP also cause Sauerbraten to be unable to launch.

EXTENSIONS ENABLING ARE BAD. Or are they?

that really isn't that good btw, hardly reaches average

anyway, i would bet the problem is that you haven't uninstalled/disabled the onboard video chipset drivers, that would definitely lead to horrible performance

Oh, now *that* was helpful and relevant. Thank you for your enlightening comment.

Uh, I never saw anything more about the extension limits. Was it ever confirmed that they were off?
