Hi! I decided to create a new thread about my map - NYC - I'm still working on. This map will probably be the largest map ever made for Sauerbraten. I will post new screenshots here. Feel free to comment.

Vondo mentioned it in post #101.
On the Internet, a fleeting mention of something is grounds for immediate discussion. :P

Oh, so because you said fleeting, we could talk about fleets of battleships now?

On another note, is it just me, or are all the forum captchas today A (added to|plus) B with all single digit numbers and answers?

Something like that.
I considered mentioning the fumes from the Sharpie I just used gave me a short headache and see if anyone started talking about Sharpies, fumes, or headaches and using that as an example, but I decided not to.
Besides, your comment on his opinion gave me enough material to start this dialogue. :)

False dichotomy. The status of the project is unknown.

The project is still alive. I know the work's stalled for a while, but now I'll do my best to have more time to work on it.

In the meantime, I've done some changes to the map - one of them is that Manhattan will be the only accessible borough. Thanks to that, the performance is way better now.

As you can see in the following screenshots, I'm also working on adding some dummy vehicles to make the map more lifelike.

This is an awsome map, keep up the great work. I cant wait till release. Also what graphics card are you using to render this massive scene?

Red, you doing something really excellent! I rly like this idea and these screenshots, continue like that!
Also, few words about illumination: some shadows are drops very sharp, therefore some places looks quite dark ( http://img504.imageshack.us/img504/9474/nyc22wy1.jpg ). Maybe, it's good idea to use `/ambient <5...15>` command or `/skylight R G B`?

P.S. According to my experience, skylight is not good for large/very large/giant maps.
P.P.S. Happy New Year to CUBE2 community!

I think that this map would reach insane amounts of fun on a CTF with huge teams (32 vs. 32).

Map too big for even 32v32 if you ask me, what with Sauerbraten's aim for gameplay speed.

Now... A 64 player game in the Empire State building would be amazing.
