It has come to my attention as far as incorporating new hudguns that alot of us[artists] are not on the same page. To remedy this situation I made an avi to show the direction I'm taking with portended hudguns and the hands which will link them.

Textures and anims are largely experimental but shown to slowly push the process of redoing hudguns with new[better] features. Any and all hudguns are replaceable by anyone's that can do better. Muzzle flashes on the pistol and chaing were also done by myself. The pistol flash is semi-transparent while the submach's are not.
As of this moment LucasWallace is working on some new textures. Julius is working on a shotgun. The pistol, knife and rifle are pretty solid contenders. I'd like the chaing and gl to be better. They need more eyecandy and better textures.

Agreed, the knife, pistol, and rifle are winners, but the chaingun looks a little off, like its placed too far forward, and maybe a little too wide. Otherwise hudguns are looking sweet =)

Any reason for the difference in transparency of the muzzleflashes?
The non transparent one looks way to cartoony IMHO.
Nice work on the crossbow (as far as I can tell from the low res youtube vid), the "chain"gun really isn't of the same quality level though.
Make sure to upload the blender files to the cvs also so that people can actually sync their models to the hands (would be good if those blender files would be put under a open-source license for that).

Thankyou. The muzzle flashes are for testing purposes. I'm going to provide the entire .blend file for modders after everything is said and done along with a tutorial to use it.

Can you make the flashes 2D Sprites?
They will look better that way instead of 3D unrealistic fire.

The flashes are 2d. they're painted onto a mesh. Don't worry the chaing flashes are not final.

Any chance the arms could be extended? There's a noticeable disembodiment at full extension. :(

Yes the animations are not final for the knife. I'm busy constructing its replacement which I dubbed, "Jack".

In Sauer can the hud objects have the same ENV and glow mapping as Iron snout has?

glow effect looks really cool on that weapon!
IMHO it's a bit over animated but otherwise really cool as far as I can tell from the low res vid.
