OpenGL

I was wondering if Sauerbraten uses openGL or not, because the graphics are rather simple and my nVidia card works best in OpenGL. And if it doesnt normally, is there a way I can get it to?

I can get those, but I keep them off because the reflections are blocky when you move. It jitters, and that really annoys me

Some cards handle the shaders better then others. ON my card here they look beutiful. On the most powerful computers that my school district owns (the ones used for Autocad and all of that overpriced garbage, they have a hefty ATI card in them) water looks like garbage.

I like openGL much better for programs, games, and development.

Just look at what it can do

(yes this is real time rendering so dont go crazy and get mad. Also there are much better prerendered images and as of yet, this kind of face has not been in a game, that i know of)

That's the beginning of the water configuration settings. I have most of them on maximum on my SLi rig (2x 7600GT) and the water looks pretty good.

Not sure which ATI card you have, but the 9800 Pro 128MB I bought in 2003 displays the water just fine, at a cost of course.

I have a nVidia 7600 GS and the water looks beautiful. Also, "reflectfps" is the command you're looking for.

I have a Radeon 9200, and the bumpmapping doesn't work in Sauerbraten (and with other programm, yes)

#9: Radeon 9200?

by windows_sux|mac_sux|linux_sux|bsd_sux on 06/27/2007 18:37

That is because the Radeon 9200 is old. :P

I had a Radeon 9250 and it wasn't even fully compliant with DirectX 9. It played Saerbraten in Windows, but not Linux because ATI makes crappy drivers.

Yay for NVIDIA!
