Error in windows xp

Now, I've seen at least one other person have this problem, and I couldn't find anybody responding to how to fix it or even confirming they know about its existance

I installed the game, started it, it started fine, but if i hit escape trying to show the menu, i get the following error:

unknown command: showmenu

the version I got is the 2007_04_15 release

just delete your config.cfg. you probably installed over an older release, but the key bindings remained, though they are incorrect. config.cfg is just there to keep bindings you make manually after you quit the game ;)

You were right, I had forgot, but I tried installing it a long time ago and never really played
