If you're using an Intel card, this has been fixed in CVS.

This might be a stretch guys, but cheack your pc for good air-flow. I was having crashes with sauerbraten lately, and found that my cpu and gpu heat sinks were full of dust buildup....preventing good air-flow.
I know other games might still run ok for you, but if I'm correct, even they will run better if you cool the pc's down some ;)
..worth a look

Hmm I was trying to solve some similar issues on my dad's laptop and downloaded a cool (in both senses of that word:) utility called Speedfan, then configured it if the temperatures of sensors in the pc go higher than certain level the only fan in the pc starts cooling at its highest rate. The PC continued to crash from time to time and then just stopped crashing. I can't tell if what I did helped since I'm not a tech guy but basically if your pc performs slower than usual (crashes come next) and it's not a software issue it might be cooling. Also I know some older/cheaper processors just melt without cooling while the more modern ones give slow performance, but remain functional.
Another long offtopic post by me :)

kurtis (airflow): On Cube II or any other opengl game I am fine.
Halo and other Directx games give my computer RRS (Random.Restarting.Syndrom) but I windows tells me it is a driver, and the comp temp is fine.

I have seen it happen, when someone joins a multiplayer game, and in my opinion has a modded version of sauerbraten, most of the time when I'm in coopedit. For example someone whos name has any deviation of linux in it for example: Rick@Xubuntu (Sorry if there is a Rick@Xubuntu, I apologize) kind of thing, or if it is a known hacker, or an unnamed player, this is not a RAM issue on my XPS, 2 GB of RAM 128 kb/s DSL. And on my main PC it's 512 mb RAM and a 3.4 Ghz processor on 512kb/s Cable divided by 4. Try to update drivers is all I can say, or defragment your harddrive, to speed up access to Sauerbraten maps/models.

NoSoup4you:
The google dictionary will define most words.
type in define:CVS
get back:
Concurrent Versioning System. CVS is an open source version control and collaboration system.
So, in summary, CVS contains the \'head\' which is the bleeding edge/in development version of the game used prior to a release.
