This question is for Aard and anyne that can help me.
I'm trying to export some maps i've made in 3dsmax and Maya but i don't know if there is a plugin for it or some kind of file extension converter that can change 3ds file to ogz?
I know there has to be some way and example is c:\sauerbraten\doc\dev\sauer_maps_in_maps.jpeg

That is an image of a Sauer map that has been exported TO 3dsmax, not the other way around. Sauer *IS* the editor, so there are no plans to really ever support external formats.

Cant you just model the level and make a newmap and get rid of everything and make the level you modeled in 3ds max an MD2 so you can just have the whole level be an MD2?

If you did that, then the level would have one giant bounding box.
Unless you made it passthrough, and used the clip material.
But even then, it would only have a singular directional light (ugly)

if you want to make levels using anything other than the sauer editor, then other engines are a WAY better choice.
