Does anybody know how to make working buttons that do stuff? make jump pads? make more water than one layer at a time? make flowing water? flip models? make my own models? post my map on the forum page? name my map and say who its by? add my own textures? add the music from the RPG maps? change the skybox? make the water actually reflect? *its not working for me* // And how do i do all of the other fun and cool things to maps that are harder than doing the normal stuff?

I have no clue how to even MAKE water in Cube 1...so I don't think I can help you..0.0
However jump pads..I think that would be in entities..

#4: Its all in the scripts

by Collector101 on 01/31/2007 11:25

This is just some advice for you. firstly create a script file. Name this script file after the map you wish to have all these perks
Then:
1. To use a different skybox type:
loadsky " N / G "
When N = the file inside packages which contains the skybox you wish to use
And G = the name of the skybox you want to use. EG: loadsky "dash/moon" (Feel free to copy this console command)
2. Leaving your mark on your maps
To name your map:
> press the tilde key under the escape key to bring up the console.
> type: /mapmsg <insertinfomationhere>

3. Adding your own textures
> In your new script type: "texturereset"
> place a list of your own textures according to the package name, heres and example of a single texture:

texturereset

texture 0 gibbie/11pipes_d.jpg

This would therfore create a new list of textures starting with the texture placed first on the list of textures.

if this made no sense refer to the README file in the sauerbraten folder.

#7: reflecting water

by a person on 02/10/2007 10:45

try these steps to make water reflect

1. change shader detail in options
2. use -f1 command line option

if all else fails:

3. buy a better graphics card

Check the SP maps
> make jump pads?
Look in the documentation (in your sauer's docs directory, editing.html I think)
> make more water than one layer at a time?
?

?
> flip models?
Look in the documentation
> make my own models?
Look in the wiki (http://cube.wikispaces.com/)
> post my map on the forum page?
http://www.quadropolis.us/
> name my map and say who its by?
/mapmsg "Keryth - My big map!!"
> add my own textures?
Look in other maps that use different textures - they have a configuration file, which is what you need
> add the music from the RPG maps?
Look at the wiki/documentation
> change the skybox?
/loadsky staffy/staffy (as an example)
> make the water actually reflect?
Get a better graphics card/enable water options (see Wiki and documentation)
