Cube maps in Sauerbraten??

by 666demonicpriest666 on 12/22/2006 01:57, 10 messages, last message: 12/03/2007 16:22, 1347 views, last view: 05/04/2024 12:31

OK I wanted to remake Cube maps in Sauer. But when doing graphical modding (such as making some things more vibrant) I found a Cube folder in the Packages. It seemed to be full of a couple Cube maps. I wondered if I can play them, so I tryed, but I couldnt load them even. But then the maps wouldnt be in Sauerbraten, so I must be doing it wrong.. Anyone knows how to load them up?
Thx

No. Sauerbraten uses a more advanced lightmap function (with Cube being 2D and Sauer being 3D) so it wouldn't work.

the command you're looking for is /importcube

You use it just like the /map command

As of right now, absolutely not. And I don't see one coming up over the horizon ANY time soon.

However, you can export the maps to the .obj format, so you could replicate a map easily enough.

Hmm... Does Sauer support .obj imports? What does?

Wow. Didn't know about the .obj exporter. But the point is, SheeEttin, that pretty much all 3D packages support .obj files, and therefore could be converted to the kind of map files other games support.
