I was wandering why choppiness happens with the lighting... i don't really know how to explain it, but here is an example:

The shadows aren't always smooth.
Are the developers planning on doing anything with that? or.. is there another reason for it?

Sauerbraten's lerping can't blend lighting across different cube sizes.

It can. You just need to play with the "lerpsubdiv" var.

From the way it looks in the shot, its your graphics card. Mabey your friend has an older nVidia or something (or he uses low settings because it goes slow due to bad CPU..)

really? its the graphics card?
i have ati x1600...
the nvidia is new... i think its the NVIDIA® GE Force Go 7800
