crash on startup

when i try to load sauerbraten i got this error

./bin_unix/linux_client: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

any ideas ??

did you compile from CVS or use the pre compiled binary?

yes i read this readme and this in main folder too , i didnt chmod +x anything but i dont think its cause of this , i have same error when trying to run server which dont need libs and rest of it

btw i have pclinuxos

mmh. if libstdc-6 really isn't installed you should check your package install-tool of choice and try to search-n-install.
you might also check which gcc is installed and try updating that - since gcc 3.4 it depends on 6, before on 5 ...

A distro = distribution of linux. Your distro is PCLinuxOS, apparently.

PCLinuxOS quite simply needs to upgrade their toolchain and system libraries. It's ridiculous... the system compiler is gcc 3.3.1 (with the corresponding libstdc++5 and libstdc++5-devel packaged separately) and the glibc version is 2.3.2

You will find many pre-compiled binaries that will not run on that system.

No, the dependencies you need are not available in the PCLOS package repository.
