as some people know, i am making a cube loader, which is fully mod compatible. those which are making mods may wish to contact me.

could i please be told what people think is needed. it is a half-life sort of design.

Ey man, check out the BETA of Totally Cubism, I think what you try to program is actually under development.... Check out
http://www.adletecgames.dd.vu and download the BETA. There will be MOD Support soon....

i hope i coppied it right... i am clicking ok, cos it is all i uderstook =P

I had exactly the same errors when I tried to install.
No matter what order I pressed the buttons, it always seemed to default to uninstalling itself halfway throught the install process (and that is with my limited High School German trying to decipher the messages!).
Weird, huh?

#5: quite mysterious

by Vlo on 06/18/2002 19:39

hey guys - that's quite mysterious, I'm using windows xp and it works - and with my second pc using windows me, too. the messages mean:

********************************
First Dialog: Setup can not be continued, because some systemfiles on your
system are not up to date. Click "OK" if you want setup to update the files
for you now. You have to restart windows, before you can run setup again.
Click on "Cancel" to exit setup without updating the files.

Second Dialog: Do you want windows to restart now ? If you click "No", you
can run setup only again, after your system was restartet.

*********************************

I will make a new setup now. It will be uploaded in a few minutes, I'll post it here again.

by mumbo$jumbo on 06/28/2002 04:20

I went to the download page and filled in some fake info and @last some download script managed to give me this:
***
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /files/cubism.exe on this server.
***

After all the fuzz I guess i can wait until i shows up on fileplanet :-)

cheers

the server is intelligent and denies the access to mean people who don't answer the questions correctly... ;-)

Vlo, I don't get it - why do you prevent people from downloading your program?

reply to this message

#16: SleepwalkR

by Vlo on 06/29/2002 00:34

I don't prevent people from downloading. The server gives out an 403 if there are any problems like "too much users are logged in" and so on (I know this is stupid, but the server is free, has no ads and supports php, mysql,....). So, if the download doesn't work: 1st: try it again later. 2nd: Don't use download managers like Go!Zilla or GetRight, but the browser function "Save target as....", this should solve your problems with the download.

Uh, AFAIK people are required to register to download that program of yours - which will prevent people from downloading it in the first place.

The won't register as soon as the program is finished, no one has to register, but people who download it now, are BETA tester, so they have to register.

The server may very well be inteligent (it is Apache/1.3.20 (Unix) PHP/4.0.6 mod_bwlimited/1.0 mod_log_bytes/0.3 FrontPage/5.0.2.2510 mod_ssl/2.8.4 OpenSSL/0.9.6).

However I find some of the questions you ask rather rude or at least inappropriate. I cannot find one single reason for mandatory submission of Real Life (tm) Name and email address.

ps:
Why not try another apache module? this one looks very nice http://unlikely.org/mike/hacks/mod_msff.c

The name is just used for the entry in the db, so u can enter your gamer name (like many people do) as well. The eMail adress is just for the newsletter and will be ignored by the db bot, which reads out the mail from the form, if you didn't mark the "information about this product" option.

but thanks for the link, i will check this one out...
