can you change the ogz map files into another extention( eg. tgz)? can you make a huge map model and use it as a map (eg. building map model)?

Why would you want to change the extension?
Modelled buildings: you won´t be able to enter them. Any building should be made with map geometry. Models should be used as props.

its not the question of why, it's the question of how. But what if we had fully modeled maps from outside sources to run in sauer, besides the internally created kind.

yes its possible. but there would not be any collisions and i doubt there would be occulsion and very very basic lighting as well

Wii fan: It´s just not the way you do it in sauer. The in game-editing is a core feature of cube and cube2 - not having to build you map in an external editor.
Any detailing can be done via textures (decals textures are possible too) and models where you need finer detail and especially full control over texturing.
