#1: HD FULLING UP

by KELMER on 10/15/2006 00:49

Hi everyone,
i´ve just installed sauerbraten in my Linux PC (ubuntu)and I was really enjoying, till the moment i received a message saying that my HD was 98% full. so realized that the game is storing something on my machine when I am playing.
The problem is that although I confirmed this is really happening I can not figure out where this files are being stored. Does anyone know where this thing might be and how do I fix this in order to stop it the next time I play ?
thanks in advance.

How large is your swap partition? You will get an our of memory error if the swap partition fills completely. That is my understanding of the prohlem at least. Thanks Neal.

If you edit on a regular basis, every time you save, sauer makes a backup of the old save as a .bak file

These can take up lots of space over time. Try cleaning out your base folder.

#5: maybe CAT

If you use CAT or KAT, uninstall it. There is a problem of indexation of files, I'm not sure it's your problem. Bye.

Use http://kdirstat.sourceforge.net/ to dermine where and which files are taking up your diskspace.

Or Filelight:
http://www.methylblue.com/filelight/

Or, if you are a command-line guy, try:
du -smc */ | sort -n
