The pings of the other players are not important. I have this with all players on all servers. :(
I love this game, so I changed back to the old spring edition, but nobody is playing it anymore :S.

Are you on a dual core processor? What fps do you normally get on maps?

toshi, the fundamental problem here is I can't reproduce the problem at all on any of my computers. So I really need people to help me figure out the issue.
If you are willing to hang out in the #sauerbraten irc channel on quakenet for a few days, I can try to debug the problem with you, buy unless you're willing to put in some time helping me, I have almost no way to debug the problem.

I only have a normal AMD Athlon 3200+. One Core (Sockel A). FPS usually at 30-90. With the new summer edition I get more FPS.
I understand you eihrul. But I only can towards evening, because of work.

Talk to geartrooper, he's the man in charge of modeling. It is highly recommended that you read over the docs as well.

Come to the #sauerbraten irc channel on quakenet, and wait for geartrooper to be around. Talk with him, and he can fill you in on details of what may need to be done still.

#9012: Sauer strange behavior... |

I've got a map in progress at the moment, and I was playtesting it for a bit when I discovered something strange: with a bit of work, I can jump across the map instantly without a teleport!
There's a bridge over a shallow stream running through the map and near the ends of the bridge, a certain kind of player behavior causes Sauer to launch them across the map.
I can trigger it by facing away from the center of the bridge, just past center, holding forward and the direction of strafe toward the bridge and then moving the mouse back and forth rapidly. Seems to work best when I'm looking straight down or straight ahead.

Not sure I understand what you're saying, you able to be clearer or give a better (or visual) example?

I'll see if I can reproduce it on my Windows box and use fraps to record it... unless recorddemo works now?
Probably just going to stick with fraps.

Perhaps it should.
How?!
I've tried doing the following:
Connecting to a (local, lan, internet) server.
/setmaster 1
/recorddemo 1
/map cmap16
<recreate it>
/stopdemo
/map (metl4, nmp4)
/listdemos
The demo isn't there. The first two are empty, the last listed woop clan's other five demos, but not mine! :(
Only time I set the next map to nmp4 was on woop clan's server to put it back the way I found it. :)

You must be admin on the server, not just master.

Got it. Will try again next time I'm at home. Guess I didn't quite read the docs carefully enough. Saw setmaster was required, missed completely the need to be admin.

So how about making it (and the other such commands) a teeny bit more verbose and actually tell you that? :P
