AF review seems pretty fair since the map was made for mp and sp was more of an afterthought. Decent and fun were pretty much the aim. I do find it a little ironic that you found the ammo boxes out of place in a map called Ammo Facility. :)
Anyways. The version included in the cube download was stripped of skybox and music for space reasons. A decision I totally agreed with. But if you want those things back you can grab a light download on my webpage that only includes skybox, music, and replacement config files.

That's the page I use to list all of my maps. You've reviewed the only 2 sp maps I've released thus far. I have plans for another, but not until I dig myself out from under my homework.

I already did, but it's only going up when I update the main page, which is only when I feel like posting something.

I downloaded cube just today. But, whenever I execute the MS-Dos batch file, everything works like it should. Then the game takes over my moniter, listen to a half a second of the (obvious) menu musicm then it closes. What's wrong?

His site is down 'cause it was hosted on the DeathIllustrated site, which has been taken into some far off land by winged techies. Currently we're looking for a brave knight to rescue our site or at least tell us what the new IP is. Please apply around back.

hi,
I just tried running the Cube on my ppc machine (an ibook2 with radeon) and the compile works fine. But when I try to start it, I get the following:
$ ./cube_client
init: sdl
init: net
init: world
game mode is ffa/default
init: video: sdl
init: video: mode
disabling TCL support
radeonUpdatePageFlipping allow 0 current 0
init: video: misc
init: gl
init: basetex
init: models
init: cfg
init: sound
mcop warning: user defined signal handler found for SIG_PIPE, overriding
mcop warning: user defined signal handler found for SIG_PIPE, overriding
Fatal signal: Segmentation Fault (SDL Parachute Deployed)
Anyone yet tried this and may give me a hint what to do?

#864: Can't get shadows...? |

by Slappy Flatusman

I'm running Cube on the following system:
1.6 gHz Athlon CPU
256 megs of 2100 DDR RAM
GeForce 4 4600 video card
Soundblaster Live! sound care
OS: 98 SE
The game is beautiful, but try as I might, I can't seem to enable dynamic lights/shadows. I try via the in-game menu, but when I select the option to turn dynamic lighting/shadows off/on, I it just sits there and doesn't open that sub menu. I've tried "dynlight 16", "dynlight 16 16", et cetera in my autoexec as well, but it doesn't seem to do any good.
If I didn't love the game, I wouldn't gripe, though. Great work. :)
