We need the stuff below that message to be able to fix such a bug. If there was nothing below that message, it means that it crashed in the (graphics) driver on a different thread, impossible for us to fix. Update your drivers if possible.
I guess this is a FAQ...

Same resolution here, but why isn't this ideal? I can feel no difference to running it with 1024x768.

well... this sucks! I like to recognise names and have a sense of knowing who I'm playing against, but if a few damn idots what to impersonate the well know saue names then the whole idea of reputation and trust is worthless... so as much as I like inane (but related) in-game banter, if above said idiots want to spout advertistments, insults, and in general defame the name they have stolen, then its a sad day in multi-player land... bah humbug...

Did I missed something at intalation or configuration because when I launch sauerbraten.bat it says in a errormessagebox: "This file does not have a program assiocated with it for performing action. Create an assiocation in the folder options control pannel, so what should I do?"

wtf I am being impersonated? Its only me if my ISP is iiNet (which you'll see in server logs). As for makkE and Aardappel, I'm pretty sure both play under aliases anyway.

Okay, enough already. We have no plans of using anything but the assembly shaders for the foreseeable future. Too much added complication for no actual gain to do otherwise.

Mmmh. Okay - worth a try ;-)
I agree with Drakas - your gfx card is just plain too weak for shaders and stuff - but am suprised at the amount of errors your getting. IMO this shouldn't happen just because of weak-gfx-card.
Please try running with these parameters:
-w1024 -h768 -a0 -f -b16 -z24
Do you still get the errors?
Maybe visit us on IRC (irc.quakenet.org, #sauerbraten) for some real-time troubleshooting!?!
=======================================
I'm not surprised to hear about the graphics card...it's POS integrated Intel after all. By the way, the networking was a red herring; the real cause of the crash is something about grenade explosions. Whenever I'm looking at a grenade when it explodes, the game crashes (network or not). Then the game dies, but stays running (ie, the "DOS prompt" doesn't return) and using 50% CPU until I forcibly kill it with the Task Manager.
The game still crashes with the command-line options you suggested. I tried capturing the console output, but this time I'm not getting any (perhaps due to the fact that I have to force quit?).
Is there any way to disable engine features (at the expense of graphic quality, obviously) to get the game to run? I'm not sure that installing a card in this machine is possible (it's a work machine, we sometimes play LAN games after hours).
ABOUT THE FORUM
OK, Aardappel, I'm respecting your wishes to (continue to) post this in "General Thread", because it's your rules / your site, but geez. This hunt-and-peck conversation style with a search form in one tab and the actual forum in another tab is killing me. I gave up actually trying to do a real reply since there's no reply buttons on the search results page and no way to get from the search results to the "real thread" which does have replies. Then you have >7000 messages in one thread.
Have you considered having multi-tiered topic sections like most forum software?

Did you seriously say, "the most realistic game ever"???
Haven't the REAL sauer devs repeatedly stated that they don't WANT that?!

Are you serious? In every message you are writing that you wanna be part of the dev team and you need CVS access. For what? Unless your code is outstanding, they won't let you in, as well as you requesting same thing over and over again!
What I'd understand is that you might wanna do something bad to the Sauer's CVS repository! You could instead, start a fork of Sauerbraten (just source, not maps) and make it as an addon. Of course, if you don't want to do that - the fine - just wasting time.
