#7228: FPS |

It's odd - on my Intel Mac, I get 30-60 FPS with full shaders, occlusion, and 4x FSAA, at 1440x900.
The same computer can barely run Nexuiz at medium settings...
Actually, the Nexuiz speed is probably the strange part, not Sauer being fast, since the computer is so new. Maybe Nexuiz isn't Universal Binary.

@Chaos
CellShading? There are only two reasons for cellshading in Sauer:
1. Make Sauerbraten look like if the developers want to copy "Warsow"
For Warsow itīs ok. It has this Wipeout, Trickstyle kind of feeling but was developed and designed with this in mind.
2. Creating a remake of the South Park ego shooter...
Hmmm. I personaly dont like cellshading and I think it will never fit into the vision of the sauer team. But who knows...

Uhm, no, Sauerbraten is if anything, more intensive than UT2004. Even with shaders off, cards without occlusion culling and other features will run like crap.
My laptop (1.4GHz Pentium M, 768MB RAM and a 32MB Radeon 7500) runs UT2004 at decent speeds, whereas Sauerbraten is under 15FPS on any decent maps.
Sauerbraten will NOT run on Grizzly's system, end of story. Its got no hope in hell of running at a playable speed.

I use Cube 1. How do I change the gun from a shotgun to a laser? or pistol?

The Radeon 9000 does not even support shaders, so they are turned off anyway. Sure, Sauer does run better than UT 2004 on my old system, but to compare it with UT99 is not quite correct. OK, let's say UT 2003. =D

There is a sunlight option in the editing menu, but how about moonlight, for night maps? Just a suggestion for the next release...

You shouldn't even be using the lighting menu..
Use the command:
'newent light NRadius NRed NGreen NBlue' with N replaced by a number
For example, the sunlight option in the menu is simply newent light 0 255 200 100 (note that 0 means indefinite)

Hello people,
I don't really know how to use this forum because it's a bit different then an ordinary forum.
But I've got a question about servers.
Is it possible to setup my own free server?
And can I let people play on maps I made myself?
Greetings,
SUSE.

To run a server, open the required ports (look in the documentation), and run the server depending on your OS. Say on Linux - type ./bin_linux/linux_server ..... all the info is basically in the docs!
Maps - www.quadropolis.us
Enjoy!
