if you wait a few months, then there will be some singleplayer code for eisenstern... it is built up to be much more extensible than the FPS code from the start, and is a LOT simpler because its not multiplayer.

Ok thats great thanks alot...
I have to say looking at the source doesnt really show as much as I thought it would, its very mixed up (probs because its under development alot) but there is not REAL clear way of seperating the multiplayr and single player... is this why cube is such a light source?

#6075: Frozen On Connect? And Other Problems |
|
by Tommy

Whenever certain people connect, my game freezes.
This is INCREDIBLY aggrivating when you're the server host and are trying to hold on to your master mode privs (which are stupid of themselves- there should be a password to get to them).
Also, I run a server. But when five people connect, they all start losing their connections! This is incredibly frustrating when you're working on a map with mastermode 3.
I hope that Cube 1 didn't have these problems, or else Cube 2 shouldn't already have been started on... especially with the horrible server system. That should be the main focus of development, not purdy graphics (second should be light building- christ that takes *FOREVER*). Not to be rude, but the servers need more features, like an admin system that isn't open to everyone and alternatives besides just "making a new server" (when you're documentation gives this as a suggestion, it's a bad sign).

New server administration features are coming in the next version.
If people are disconnecting, then its your server.

I've noticed that. When the master disconnect, the server is "no-masterised" until a new player connect. Then it's his server.

#6079: about textures.... |

hi. first post here!
first, thanx to the guy(s) responsible for such an amazing piece of software called sauerbraten! and a few others i see around here helping the newbies like myself.
i am trying to do some mapping and some questions arised:
1- is it possible to rotate the textures to match angled surfaces? or resize them? (inside the editor, of course!)
2- about the new shader features....
is it possible to force a smaller bump map or reflection map to be tilled(repeated), to match a bigger difuse map? by default, a saw the "engine" only resize them.
i mean, would it use less resources? if yes, would make sense to have a 256X256 color map and a 32X32 tilled bump map on some places (a tilling "litlle-squares" wall or floor, for example.)
3- how to force ONLY the bump, or ONLY the reflection along with the color map?
thanks!
