You donīt need to use md3. But itīs a lot nicer if the models are more complex (no compression messing up fine detail, possibility to use several textures, etc)..

Are there any plans to change the menu code? I find it annoying how when you die, it replaces the menu with the scoreboard ect. and it's just aquard that you have to update the server list in order to use the server browser. Plus, it could use a graphical makeover as well. I have no idea if this is anywhere on the todo list, but it will make the whole game feel alot better (because it's an essential part of it)

#5893: Fatal error when trying to run

by Shadow Ferret on 06/18/2006 07:07

Sorry, kinda hit enter on that last one. Well, I try and run it, and I get a freakin Windows32 fatal error. I deleted and downloaded again, but to no avail. I have a fairly decent graphics card, I mean, it can run F.E.A.R. (low settings), so I dont know what the problem is. Any help would be great.

Simply press ^ or press t and add a / infront of the command. Or press f11 (opens console).

on my german keyboard ^ only works if I

... best bet is to press "T" and enter a "/" manually ...

#5905: Need help configuring Cube

by Porus on 06/19/2006 19:48

Hi,

I need help configuring the key board controls in cube. I am an old-fashioned gamer and I prefer plain old keyboard play as opposed to the \'free-look enabled\' keyboard + mouse style. So I woul like to configure Cube so that I can use the left and right keys to look left and right instead of strafe in that direction. I\'ve tried using \\bind but I need an example of the command. Can anyone help? Thanks.

- Porus

bind "MOUSE1" [attack]
would bind left mouse button to shoot.
the basic format is like this:
bind "KEY" [command]
that means that if you press KEY, it will execute "command".
group commands with semicolons.
For example, my sniping script goes like this:
bind "SPACE" [domodifier 1; hudgun 0; maxroll 8; crosshairsize 50; onrelease [fov 100; hudgun 1; maxroll 3; crosshairsize 10]]
Put your BINDS in your autoexec.cfg so that they will be applied when you start Sauer/Cube.

Hi,

Thanks for the info, I do understand the bind command a bit better now, but I need to map the the left and right keys to 'look left' and 'look right' respectively. The .htm help files don't seem to mention 'look in direction (by angle if necessary)' as an action. Can you give me an example of that? Thanks.

there is no such command. It has been left out on purpose to encourage people like yourself to put in the effort to learn the right control scheme, and have so much more fun playing afterwards.

Besides, you will just die a horrible death repeatedly with a keyboard, even on skill 1, and moreso in multiplayer.
