you could change it so that the healthboosts revert to the original +75 in SP only, and add another entity incase SP mappers want the +10 permaboost

Just for those who haven't heard, Savage has gone to freeware. The download size makes me appreciate cube and sauer a bit more :)

#5422: Turning in Cube |

Is there a bind key command so I can turn left and right with the arrow keys instead facing the direction with my mouse? I don't see it, and I think it's odd that Cube doesn't have it considering most FPS do.

I'm pretty sure this is not there. The level of control you would have with that would be terrible. You would have no way to control the speed of your turn.
I considered something similar for my joystick mod, where you could map joystick buttons to control the direction you were looking so I wouldn't have to require an analog stick. But I realized it would be hard enough even with the analog stick to match the accuracy of a mouse.

Hey guys.. I'm having a problem with the latest version of Sauerbraten. I try to enter the menu to select Multiplayer.. but it immediately crashes. Any ideas?
When I'm in the game I notice up the top left that it says it can't load autoexec.cfg.
I'd appreciate any help. :)
Thanks

it must be a radeon 7000 driver bug then, as the omegas i used were based on the 6.2 catalyst. meh, maybe try older drivers, mine works fine with old hydravision drivers.

#5433: Mac Sauer report |
|
by Esprit

Just grabbed the new Sauer version for Mac a few days ago... beautiful! The smeared texture bug from the last release is fixed, and the new lighting/shader thingy makes Sauer look just as pretty as Quake 3 did.
I was surprised there was no discussion on the new physics in the forums here. I'm sure I'm not the only one who's noticed that strafing is now quite slow (realistic maybe, not as much fun perhaps), and more significantly, many previously walkable ramps are not impossible to get up.
Also, I don't know if this is enough information to be helpful, but I am presently getting a repeatable crash trying to join a server that is on map "space" in coopedit mode. Happens right after I select the server from the menus.
Finally, one question on the shader stuff. Are any significant speed-ups for them expected? Some maps are fine with them, but some (the misty old castle, the jungle, and a handful of others) are completely unplayable for me... even at 640x res I get ~ 8 fps. The docs say to pass the -f switch, but I'm not sure how to do that for .app Applications on Mac! open Saurbraten.app -f doesn't work... any mac gurus know? Would be a good addition to the documentation!
Congratulations to the Sauer team on the beautiful new release!
See you all on the other side of my brand-new green-energy-ball lobbing grenade launcher! (increase the damage a tad!)

I've just started using linux, giving it a try. After learning how to install and play Cube, I found the game very enjoyable. Well, I just started to have problem(s) playing the game. It end abruptly with 'write /dev/sequencer: bad file descriptor.' Cube has end this way with other MODs too. Anybody familiar with this and able to help? Also, it there anyway to make the game fullscreen?

crash... I am on holiday in CA at the moment, can't do much... maybe eihrul can have a look.
shaders will be optimized yes, though if you are on a card that supports shader 2 but fundamentally is not really equipped for it (such as 5200 and other low end 5xxx) you definitely want to turn it off for the moment.
