That system should be fine for Cube but for Sauer only tiny maps. Drivers? http://www.nvidia.com/object/riva_drivers.html

I dowloaded the Agust version of Cube, should I dowload all the others or is each pakage the new stuff plus the old stuff?
How do I add maps I dowload from places like quadropolis to cube or at least how do I open them?
How do I add mods that need to be unziped in the cube root, and how do I acess the cube root?
I dowloaded January's sauerbraten, but I found no sp maps, did I dowload wrong or was there none, or do I need to dowload the older packages?
What's up with the rpt (or something like that) maps? There really large, really cool and real messes up. When you open them your an orge and the movement is in no way smooth even in editors mode. What's wrong?
I would be really gratful if someone would answer these questions.

1. Nope, every package is complete.
2. Look into the zip files. If they contain only a *.cgz and a *.cfg, extract them to /cube/packages/base.
When they contain a folder called /packages, unzip it with folder names checked to /cube.
Keep in mind that custom map won´t show up in the menu. ou have to load them manually (press t in game, then type
/map mapname
while mapname is the name of the .cgz file.
Some maps come with a readme that have special install/run instructions.
3. "Root" directory is the main "cube" directory, the folder wich holds the .bat file. Just extract to there (with folders).
4. No sp maps in this release.
"DMSP" is a mode where you can battle
monsters on the multiplayer maps.
5. The rpg maps are large, yes, therefore your framerate might slow down. Future developement on the engine will make them run smoother.

ok Silly question, I have dual install, but Win98 is refusing to even start Cube reporting 'There is not enough memory to run dis program ayyye' (roughly)
Machine is a AMD 2800XP
1GB DDR
GeForce 5900XT
DX 9c
88.8 drivers
Would use WIn2k install - but thats defeatism ;)

#5242: Linux & ATI woes |

OK, I've een trying to figure this out, and I just can't seem to, so I'm asking here.
Cube and Sauer _were_ working before, so I think that I may have screwed something up (unless the new versions arejust wonky with ATI).
But anyway, whenever I run sauerbraten: everything is black, except for the gun model, shots, HUD, and menu. In other words, the map is just solid black.
When I start cube, same situation, except that everything is black and has a HOM effect too.
Has anyone had the same problem?

A long time ago Goetz pointed out a cool top-down shooter called Crimsonland. I know I'm not the only one who enjoyed it.
Some indy developers are making a Crimsonland meets Doom 3 sort of game and they just released a demo.

The plot is complete crap but it's fun.

Hello there, I am using Fedora Core 4 and am trying to run this blasted game with no sucsess... I downloaded the cube_2005_08_29_unix.tar.gz and extracted it to my ./downloads/games/cube folder that I created and when I try to open the cube_unix file I hit run instead of display and it doesn't do anything. Any ideas? Much appreciation.

Connect localhost just connects to the server on your machine if you already started one.
Your ip probably doesn't care if you run a game server for a few hours. If they do then you need a new ip.
