#5185: skeletal modelling |

Hello!
I am looking for a game engine (not *necessarily* a FPS engine), in which I would be able to move a model's skeleton in real time (not just calling skeletal animations -- this is important).
so my question is three-fold --
1) can this engine only show first-person views?
2) does it support skeletal animations?
3) can i manipulate the skeleton in real-time?
thanks!

1.)The cube engine can´t show thirdperson, Sauerbraten can.
2.)No. Cube supports md2, which uses frame animation.
3.) No
Maybe Sauerbraten will have those features
one day.

Moving a camera to third person is easy, but what you need is a more hardocre physics engine. Take a look through here:
http://www.devmaster.net/engines/
Good luck.

correction: for best range with rocket or rifle jumping, aim 45 degrees down+backwards. for best height aim down. for anything else you should aim somewhere in between. :)

You must install that library. Use the package manager, or use apt-get.

Does this path exist? No? Well, then change the project settings.

The way is called c++.
You should ask yourself though if cube is really suitable..
Just because [insert modern engine here] supports vehicles doesn´t mean all exsisting games/engines need vehicles.

Though turrets would be fun, and not as hard to integrate. I've still got a turret model I made sitting around, it was fun to make... If i remember correctly i borrowed a lot of the design from the UT2004 chaingun turret. Fun little project, pity it never went anywhere.

cube is great but so far it only seems like a game with an inbuilt level editor, how would i actually be able to change to code so i could do stuff like add more weapons and power ups, and change it the 3rd person? i would prefer to be able to this with dev-c++ aswell.
