If you want a dedicated server you have to hire or buy and relocate one, then upload the source code, compile it, and run cube_server.

It doesn't work with the official clients/servers...

But if you compile your server, you can connect to it with clients that you also compiled from source, if you want to play your own 'mod' on some LAN-party :)

Have just installed Cube from Linux Format DVD. Checked the SDL files ok .. ran using ./cube_unix and I receive the following error message.

glibc detected *** double free or corruption 0x08190c08 *** aborted

also the screen display blows right up and the mouse stops working. The only way out is to POPO.

Any guidance gratefully received.

I bet you are using Fedora Core 3 (FC3), because this exactly is the same problem I have on my laptop since I upgraded from FC2.

yes you can,put your music (.ogg) in your own folder in /packages (example /packages/michi
edit /default_map_settings.cfg accordingly. (the lines where you find fanatics songs listed...)

I 've a problème when I want play...
I've donwload cube_2004_05_22.tar.gz file
I've unzip it and in a console :
./cube_unix -t
init :sdl

init : world
game mode is ffa/defaut
init vidéo :sdl
init vidéo :mode
init vidéo :misc
init vidéo :gl
init vidéo :basetex
*** glib detected *** double free or corruption 0x082a7720
abandon

How can I fix this bug ?
