Yup, coop edit can be quite amazing fun. Implementing copy & paste should be possible yes.

Thanks for the reply but I honestly have no idea what your talking about. I know nothing about binary. I did notice the error message when I joined. It said the server i attempted to join had protocol 121 and I had 120. Uhm not sure at all what this means and if someone could tell me what I need to do to fix it I would greatly appreciate it.

Someone gave you a bad copy of the game then. Download it from this website.

#3028: Key bindings

by ben_o on 06/09/2004 03:31

Is there a file where can I tweak the keybindings? I'd like to make the POV *turn* rather than slide sideways, if possible.

then you clicked on the wrong file in sourceforge. you need 2004_05_22. You are running the 2003 version

you can bind your keys in the autoexec.cfg. to see the default binds, names of the keys and commands you can take a look into /data/keymap.cfg

The game could support turning keys easily enough but the gameplay isn't calibrated to it either.

#3034: It\'s so slow...

by Teckel3D on 06/09/2004 14:51

Hi,

I\'m new to Cube. I tried it at the default resolution (1024x768) and it is is very slow: 6fps.

My configuration:
-- AMD Athlon XP 1700+
-- ATI Radeon 64DDR
-- ATI Catalyst 4.5 driver
-- WinXP SP1a
-- DirectX 9.0b
-- OpenGL 5.1.2600.1106 in the c:\\windows\\system32 directory

Could you help me, please?

T3D

Oh well - since I don't see anyone here contesting this, I suppose it's true. I guess that puts Cube out of my reach; I've got a bunch of Quake reflexes that I don't want to waste, and *really* dislike using the mouse for mayhem. :\

Thanks very much for the reply.

It'll be worth your time to learn to use the mouse. Your Quake game will improve.

Agree with pushplay... imagine playing with 10x quicker aiming with good accuracy :)

With a so fast-paced game as Cube you wouldn't take any frag by aiming with keyboard, except some few lucky shots

The fact is, if you've been playing with keyboard for years it's gonna take a while to catch up with mouse. No doubt you've gotten pretty good with it. But, it would almost be cruel to encourage others to go down the path of spending that much time getting good with the keyboard when all other things equal, superior equipment capabilities will always be enough to swing the result. I don't even know if it would be _reasonable_ to expect many of the SP maps to be completable with keyboard.

#3044: Can't End Level

by ynot on 06/10/2004 17:17

Forgive what I'm sure is a noobie question...

I am having trouble ending a level in SP. I've killed all visible monsters. tripped all levers and yet nothing happens. I've searched the level over and over and I can find nothing to end it. The particular level I'm on now is called Garden of the Beasts. Thanks.
