It has always been that way. Recently they even released new Versions of Mozilla 1.4
It is a matter of stability, they consider Mozilla 1.4 as the most stable. For the Future Mozilla 1.7 is going to be the rock-solid browser while Mozilla 1.8 lets more freedom for changes (and therefore bugs)

I am fairly sure that it is a Linksys router, But I do not have physical access to the router itself...can I still forward ports on it?

Yes, if you have the admin password (default is usually just "admin").
http://192.168.1.1/ with your browser. That'll take you to a webpage hosted inside your router that can be used to reconfigure it. There should be a port forwarding page at which you can set it to forward the ports needed for Cube (don't know offhand what they are) to your machine.

No blood and guns, don't think the monster are a big issue unless they do have guns.

Well, I don't know about you, but I see tons of kids stuff with guns. I think the real point to modify something for kids is no _realistic_ looking guns (rayguns are good) and no blood or death (things vanish in a puff of logic instead). Possibly a more cartoony style.
There's an Unreal Tourney clone called Nerf: Arena Blast for the Unreal engine that pretty much is just a totally standard FPS except with kids and Nerf weapons.

I've looked. I've tried. No luck, thus far.
Is there a way to use a Sidewinder joypad with Cube?
I have a slight disability, which makes it hard to play, otherwise.
Ta!
Kat!

Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz (2 CPUs)
would there actually be 2 CPUs or is it just seeing 2 because of the HT thingy?

Well,
If u are using the 2003 version, you can disable the gib corpses by specifing the -g option in the bat file
You can disable the guns by typing hudgun 0, but that doesn't address the bullet sparks, trails, or explosions
You can change the monsters to anything you want. (Look at polycount for quake 2 models)
And I believe you can get rid of blood by changing the file *cube*/data/martin/smoke.png to just a black square (but this will also get rid of the smoke trails too).
Alternatively, you can change it to any colour you want (like green) using a common photo editing tool such as Adobe Photoshop, but once again this also affects the rocket and shotgun trails
If you just want to change the guns to something a little more "unreal," I can't help you there, but check out DCP's hudgun and item replacements.
