First of all this engine is great! I really like it!
I am really interested in using custom player models. I am planning to skin and animate some of my characters and i don't know what else do i need to get them in game.
thanks.

the serious sam editor is not "real time". It is similar to unreal in the sense that it uses the rendering engine to display the editor view, and that it has relatively quick recompilation when you edit geometry. It is very different from cube however.

You can use a different model, such as dcp's little cube (http://cube.dietmarpier.de/mapmodels.htm ) or even trees barrels or the jumppad model. You can also insert lots of them by something like ' bind F1 "newent mapmodel 24 26 31" '.

Bonjour,

If you have a firewall, you need open the ports 28765 and 28766. If you are in a NAT you should forward requestions to these ports to you server.

I'm running SuSE 9.0, pretty much a total noob at linux, i extracted all the files to a directory. How do i run the game now?
If i cd to the dir then ./cube_unix like i saw in another post i get a huge error msg about remote server refused connection and unable to create OpenGL Screen. IDK whats going on? any ideas?
Quake 3 runs fune, so does americas army, and all the bundled games with suse also run perfect. I have loaded the latest release of drivers from ati.
Specs(donno if u need these)
2200+ AMD Athlon XP
640mb of ram
280gb of space (120,120,40)
Sapphire Radeon 9800Pro
the rest shouldn't really matter.
Thanks for any help lended

I ran the server.bat and it went thru the cmds and said the server wasn\'t registered because it couldn\'t ping me. Would this be caused by my being on a router? And is there any way around this?

Looks like your port forwarding isn't working. You can safely ignore this if all ppl you want to join your server are on a local network. then you should add -mblah option in the server.bat like this:
bin\cube.exe -d -mblah %1 %2 %3 %4 %5
Of course, if you want ppl on the internet to be able to join your server, you'll have to manage to get the port forwarding/nat right. This is different for differents routers. Be sure its UDP ports 28765 and 28766, not TCP that you should forward to the internal IP of the server.

Yeah, i'll have to take a screen shot, as it wont let me copy text from the konsole after i run that, just makes PC speaker beeps and puts random text in whenever i use any button on the mouse.
One sec and i'll take the pic and upload it.
