#2666: Runnig Cube on Fedora Core 1 |

Hey, how would I go about running Cube on Fedora Core 1
I "chmod +x" 'ed the proper directories, but when I ran it it said something about "not being able to access libSDL-1.2-(something something).o" Now my guess as to what would be wrong would be that I just have to install SDL.
So I went over to the SDL website, downloaded the appropriate RPM's (SDL 1.2.7) and installed them, but it still doesn't work. Do I need the SDL source code maybe?

aard, how would you feel about be updating the manual to include some of the more commonly asked questions and to clarify a few things (like arches)?

OK, I got SDL_Image and _Mixer, and Cube runs, but now I can't shoot! bullets and rockets act like there's a wall in front of me. I believe I know what this bug is but I have another one too:
The lighting is CRUD!!!! All the lighting on the ground and walls is squarish and very VERY ugly. Are these associated, or is there something I can do about this?
(Perhaps download Fedora Core 2)?

Hey, does anyone know somewhere I could get some hosting for maps?? I might just go do an anglefire webpage or something...
In fact, does anyone know of a GOOD FREE webhosting service? (large server, high bandwidth, sub-domain, etc.)

websamba has as much bandwidth as you want with 30 mb of space with no file size restrictions. you can have sub domains too. there are ads at the top of the page though.

@enigma:
I have the same problem like you. The problem with the shots should be fixed in the next release.
Your lighting in cube looks like

#2684: Multitextured Cube and some water effects |
|
by Steini
on 05/02/2004 21:13

Hiho out there.
I was really impressed by bump mapping and multitexturing like it\'s done in the new UT2003 or UT2004. So I sat down and began to hack such things into the Cube code. It was surprising that multitexturing slows down the game only a few but the effect was enormous.
Another thing I working on is shining water. If you look into the water you should see yourself and some things around you. This part is still under heavy development and VERY buggy :)
I\'ve two screens for you to show some results...sourcecode will follow when it\'s stable. I can send you a Linux binary if interested ;)
