it seems that you are probably right and that the trouble is the soundsticks. soundcore is not getting installed properly at bootup, yet sound works fine with aRts (albeit delayed) and not at all without aRts.
I guess I could try the built in speaker as long as i can get soundcore to install.

First thing to do to get soundcore working would be to figure out if the sound card (or its design/protocol) changed when moving from the G3 to the G4 iBook. Since the G4 iBook is very similar to the PB G4 12" 867mhz, you might want to try to find as much info as possible on it.
By the way, I tried Cube-osx on an iBook G4 14" 933mhz and it works perfectly in Panther.

You're gonna hafta be more clear than that. Which text? The console? The target's name (which, IMHO, is done better in UT - centre of screen, not only when perfectly aimed, especially given we all look the same)?

As far as I can see "teammate" is defined as an internal function argument of the rendermodel function in rendermd2.cpp.

#2401: crash on load quicksave (mouse button) |

Hi,
I recently was lucky enough to find Cube and it runs well on my Presario 5005R, WinME, 16MB Vanta TNT2 M64Pro Nvidia, 512MB pc133 SDRAM system.
The only problem I am having is when I accidently click a mouse button immediately after being killed and it seems to try to load the last quick-save instead of loading the beginning of the level (like Quake 2 does). Instead of loading the game crashes, but not hard, an MSDOS window is visible afterward and all I have to do is close it and reload Cube and use the menu to load my quick-save and it works fine, but if I click a mouse button (accidently), I get an error message that the last quick-save is corrupt (it will load if I don't accidently click a mouse button and use the menu).
This game is so much fun (single player is all I have played) that it doesn't bother me to have to reload the game every time, but I would like to fix it if possible.
Thank you for a great game and any advice you may offer. {8^)>

If you use Jedit, you can search a directory (or tree of directories) for a file and look though the results in a nice format. I found it very useful when looking for things in the source.
