I am experimenting changing the looks of the site a bit. You may run into weird changes. sorry while that lasts :)

Ugh, put the top bar back! The left side-bar is waaay annoying, as are the unlabeled image links. :P

well, I didn't like the top bar... I will ask someone to make real icons, the ones on the left are temp ones I made.

I guess I can replace em by text if everyone finds images annoying

I liked the text menu at the top. You can have both that and the new one without any problems though :)

A different background color for the text part would be good, it kinda flows together, at least at 1600x

sorry, I don't think multiple navigation methods are a good idea. Its exactly one of those things that make websites suck.

I like the simplicity of the icons, but it's not entirely clear what they mean. It is more attractive than the top bar though. It's kind of odd having all the content in a column in the middle without having the background around it a different colour.

It's a small site that doesn't have a lot of info, and there IS room already, so i think it would work. I've seen lots of good sites with small text menus on the top and bottom of the page in addition to a bigger, more visible menu on the side, and it saves a bit of scrolling. But hey, your site, your call :)

Does anyone know how to cross compile the libraries Cube uses for windows? I'd like to continue playing with Quad using the new enet etc...

If you are using cygwin, then it's just the usual ./configure;make for ENet.

That actually worked! I'm surprised, I thought it was going to require some unix libraries or something.

#2117: Bug

by Carsten. on 12/29/2003 11:51

Hi,
after a few minutes in coop edit mode the game exits immediately and shows the follwing message in the console:
linux_client: tools.h:176: T& vector<T>::operator[](int) [with T=entity]
Assertion \'i>=0 && i<ulen\' failed.

After that i have to restart the X-Server, because i can\'t move the mouse. It\'s reproduceable.

most odd, as I don't think anything changed w.r.t. coop editing or entity handling in this release.

Anyway, this has to do with entities, so for the moment you can probably avoid the bug by not doing light placement and such in coop.

This will have to be fixed next release. If you can give me an exact scenario to reproduce it (starting from a newmap or an existing map) this will help me.

#2120: FPS

by Razor-X on 12/30/2003 01:17

I just downloaded Cube and skimmed through the readme and played the game. The game seems only to achieve an average 25 fps. I tried editing the fpsrange but that didnt do squat. Same with the LOD. he LOD stays around 100 and the fps stays around 25.It isnt all that bad, but the screenshots show over 100 fps at a high LOD Here are my computer specs:

Pentium 4 1.6 GHZ
32 MB nVidia TNT2 Riva Pro 64
256 MB RAM

What am I doing wrong? I can run UT at a clean 100 fps easy, and thats more advanced than Cube.

25fps on an ancient videocard seems about right to me.
