#2013: Re: and...

you're probably trying to run it from behind a firewall/nat router/proxy or other (or even windows packet filtering or third party software-firewall).

What's your internet connection? network/machine config? OS? provider?

Make sure that ports 28765 and 28766 of your server machine are reachable from Internet if you want to host a public server. If you want a private server (most likely for tests), add -mblah option to the server command-line and ignore the warning in the console window.

#2018: server ID

by julesthejackal on 11/05/2003 05:24

Hi everyone,

Some players here might reconize my name from "BZFlag", (Jules The Jackal).

I just started playing this game and love it! Great Job for all involved with it. I run a BZFlag server (running on debian linux) and started a cube server also. I cant seem to get it to use my dom. id (jackalspalace.servergame.com) like my BZFlag server does. I read the documentation and tried the "-n" flag but that didnt help either.

Any ideas or did I miss something in the files?

rsn86: can you run other opengl games?

Lethedethius: I'm not going to write you a linux user manual. Buy a book on it, find one online, or shell out for another OS.

make sure you unzip with the unzip command, not some gui tool that messes up file permissions.

make everything executable (chmod +x *) in bin_unix, and also cube_unix, so if you really want to 'click' on something, that thing will be the cube_unix file (you'd better make it work from a console window, as you'll get some debug/error message if a problem occurs and make some KDE/Gnome link once everything is OK)

#2023: WTF is going on?

by Jules on 11/14/2003 04:40

Just a little thought.........

I keep on checking on the server list and no one ever seems to be playing cube. I wondering if im the only person on this planet that loves this game?

Hello..........any other players out there?

Jules

A cfg is just a text file.

#2028: Thanks

by Grimmy on 11/15/2003 22:00

I copied and pasted an existing CFG
file, renamed it, opened in in notepad
and edited it.

Is there a way to have bosses, or do you
have to use enemies as substitutes?

#2029: Cube wont connect to server

by KnightMare on 11/15/2003 22:25, refers to #2009

I just installed Cube, all went fine and i can play single player mode.

I can do a scan for a multiplayer game online. The list comes up all looks normal. when i select a server to join, the game seems to crash. It will never connect and i have to killall cube to kill it.

I am running Linux and no firewall... Anyone using Linux seen this problem and got it to run?

#2032: Some Ideas

by LethZoid on 11/16/2003 06:02

I was thinking... Why not have more of a visual look for gamma setting... like a bar... :), and a drop down box for the resolution. Also a setting chooser so we can decide the X, Y, and Z axis speed of our mouses :D
