Get Winzip. If you're already using it, try something else like WinRar

Are you using the winzip 9 beta? If so, try rolling back to version 8. If you already have 8, try 9 or something. WinRar isn't as nice as winzip.

I'm on winxp, and I decided to use the builtin zip functionality. But its so endlessly crap, I had to install (the already very crap) winzip again. Its buggy, and there's many operations which it doesn't support (just does something stupid, rather than give an error).

hey guys, Winzip is evil, everybody knows it ;)
If you wanna try something else, and don't want to pay, free alternatives are available, here is the top 3 (IMO) :
7Zip ( http://7-zip.org )
Which is open source and which support .7z format (high compression level, already use sometimes on the web, gonna be more and more used) and many other ones...
IZArc ( http://www.webattack.com/get/izarc.shtml )
Freeware, highly configurable, many formats, etc. (supports .7z too)
FilZip ( http://www.filzip.com )
Freeware, a Winzip-like (can't remember cool features...)

And powerarchiver:
And best of all...
[cubeuser@cubestation]$ unzip cube_...zip
it's rock-solid! ;)

Enzip: http://website.lineone.net/~chris_m/
Free, and I like the interface better than Winzip, for the most part. I can't remember what it was, but I got another free one to unzip .rar, and found it also unpacks .pak's! "Most popular formats" indeed.

I forgot to say that every archiver in my top 3 supports .ZIP .RAR .ACE .TGZ etc. as if those formats were their own
PowerArchiver WAS cool but now there is a boring nag-screen during more than 3 seconds and this simply s*cks ;) (also sometimes RAR decompression does not work while it work with any other one... :/ )
Let's try them all...
If someone test all of those free archivers, please write a fast comment, I am so damn lazy :)
See you

No , the best program is windows commander . Its not made for these kind of things , but with this program you can easelly go in to .zip files . But this program is made for navigating in your computor , like "my computor" , but i dont even use that anymore because of wincmd !

#1566: WinZip Buggy? |

Maybe it's something particular to winxp, because I've always found winzip to be especially bug free.
I forgot that winzip isn't free though. If you don't have a key you might as well download one of the free versions. They all borrow heavily from winzip's interface anyways.

WinCommander is just a pale shadow of the great file manager of all times, the holy Norton Commander. And if you want to see the One who retains the holy spirit, you should see FAR (http://www.rarlabs.com/far_manager.htm), made by the same [russian =)] guy as RAR was. Now that's truly hardcore - text mode, ye right! =) Not to mention syntax highlighting, archive and FTP management. I would even dare to say, it's better then Midnight Commander (yes, I know this sounds like blasphemy =))...

Any way of altering Cube's in-game resolution? I'm using Derek Arndt's OS X port, in case it matters.

I'm not sure if Arndt's port works with the normal command or not, which is
-wxxxx -hxxx
