#15327: fps.cpp

I am not a skilled coder by any means but I am interested in learning more. I have what to most of you will be a basic question. I am on a mac, well hackintosh to be precise, and using the latest version of xcode on yosemite 10.10. When I open fps.cpp, there are some errors flagged in there (before any editing) I wondered if this was common knowledge, or a product of xcode, or are they genuine errors that just dont affect gameplay, ?

The erros seem to start after int:selectcrosshair... and then a lot of them right at the very end of fps.cpp, any ideas ?

i'm changing all the md3's etc to iqm's, and i'm having a problem with the doors...

seems that the anims are popping from about frame 5 to the end frame on the doors... i've removed the keyframes and put in framekeys, but no matter how long i make it, or how slow i play it in sauer... they all take about 1 sec to play... like they are jumping over all the empty transition frames...

i didn't have any problems with other models when they were NOT hooked to 'iqmanim trigger'...

i would think it would be something i didn't remove in blender from the original md3 maybe?? or is it something in sauers iqm trigger?

i just want the doors to open the way "I" want them to open... not what i have now... maybe i have to manually set the start and end frame?... hmmm, i'll go try that...

how odd... (i'm on windows)... before you compile you get errors?... then you might try an older version of your compiler... ummm, this was compiled in 2013, so you might try something of that era...

i removed framework 4.5 on my windows computer to help with my compiling... i'm just saying, i don't really know what your mac problem might be...

let us know if you figure it out...

kayyy... i kinda fixed it, i lowered the frames to 20 frames, then in my iqm i ran it at 40fps like so:

iqmanim trigger "blabla.iqm" 40

and now all the frames work forwards and backwards (door)...

but when i lower the fps, it starts hitching and jumping, so it might be my video card...

but if i'm wrong, and there is another way, i would be open to any suggestions...

I worked it out that the fault occurs by having set the targets incorrectly for the compile, based on how I had the target set either intelligently or not xcode decided that the errors showing in fps.cpp would hinder the compile, and they did. I used the debugger and the "clean" option and it automatically cleared the errors and reset the target, pretty cool that, not that I can claim any skill there.

I added many Cube 2 forks to a list of game engines in Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_game_engines

Currently we have:
Inexor
Platinum Arts Sandbox
Tesseract
Lamiae
OctaForge

And there is more to come as I saw a recent post of a Cube 4D/Tetravect engine.

It would be great to have all of them joined together, but it's probably a lot of work.

If you know of another fork not listed, please let me know.

I created a Quadropolis account about a week ago and it hasn't been activated yet. I'm unable to contact the correct people through #sauerbraten on quakenet irc, so I'm hoping one of you will see it here :D

Sorry, but I appear to be kind of blind. According to universaldelta, or better said delta_edit_0, there is a command called editfacewentpush. It works ingame n stuff, no problem.

The problem that I do have though is that I can find it's definition nowhere. It does not seem to be some macro or alias in the default cubescript configs and a grep over the whole src folder gives me 0 hits as well.
I do find COMMAND(editface, "ii"); , but no editfacewentpush. So, where is it?

What do you mean, you are "not able to connect"? Do you type in the IP by hand and it throws errors? Does /lanconnect "fail to connect"? Or do you try it over the server browser, which displays nothing?

#15345: problem runnning Cube2 HELP

Hello! I am looking to pick up Sauerbraten once again after so long without my favorite game, however I came across a problem with this laptop. When I open up the game and move my mouse, it jumps either to the top left-most corner or somewhere way off the screen to the right. The game lags like nothing I've ever seen before as well, and it's virtually impossible to do anything with the settings because any commands I try to execute simply take too long to do anything. I can't connect to any servers, and obviously can't navigate through the UI because the cursor only goes to the top-left corner or somewhere off screen to the right. When I DO manage to jump into an empty /newmap the game barely runs when I move or shoot. Even in this state, in-game I cannot look around because my view jumps all over the place. I tried talking to one of the creators of the engine, but he didn't know what to do. Here are my specs.

Lenovo IdeaPad U530
Processor: Intell Core i7-4510U @ 2.00 GHz 2.60 GHz
8.00 GB RAM
64-bit OS
x64-based processor

Can anyone help me?

Does this happen in other games or only Sauer?
1. Turn off "snap to" in mouse properties.
2. See if a different mouse works.
3. Try reinstalling your graphics card drivers.
4. Close your antivirus or hot key manager.
5. See if the portable version of Sauer works.

#15347: rpg_2 in Cube 2 gone?

I remember a while back, perhaps a little less than a year ago I used to play on rpg_2 all the time with friends and we would just screw around on the huge maps. When i try to access it recently it doesn't come up! Has it been removed? Can it be added again?
