What about telling some of the steps?
I'm sure there are some people around here that could give some ideas (and maybe answers) about it...

Well Sub-Zero did post the basic links, there's also http://cube.wikispaces.com/Multiplayer+Guide#Server%20Hosting and maybe the video is some form of step-by-step guide. It's not really terribly complicated, except for the port-forwarding part, but that's where http://portforward.com/ comes in and it's not cubeengine territory anyway.
Regarding the original post:
You don't need to have a server (we've all assumed he meant game-server here) to be a clan - you just have to be a bunch of people sharing some clan-sign, -title or what-have-you .. a place to meet is basically all you need, you can open your own channels on most public IRC-systems - like quakenet or gamesurge (2 popular ones in this community) - and a basic website can often even be had for free .. depending on your requirements.

the video i posted/made is a step by step production by me to help people launch a server. it also includes a second video about port forwarding on the like (however you must learn that not all router pages look like mine since my router homepage is not only wifi, but also a D-Link, however most of them are somewhat like each-other, so it should not be hard to catch on. however most of it is for windows, since i do not own a mac, and i hardly use my VM to open ubuntu, most of my stuff stays on windows for now.

#13895: Setting up a LAN server on mac |

Hi. I'm a noob at Sauerbraten. A few of my friends and I are trying to game on this during class. We all have macbooks.
How do I set up a server? When I run the application, there is an option for servers but when I click run I then have no way of finding my server. Even then, the one time my friend got in, we didn't know how to change the map or game mode.
Help greatly appreciated for a noob!

same as setting up a normal server for the master server, with a slight change to the server-init.cfg where you change the "updatemaster 1" to "updatemaster 0" look in the docs to make it, it should not be too hard on mac.

Has anyone been able to get these to work with Cube2? Both stereoscopy and head-tracking? Or at least head-tracking?
Thanks,
Marco.

Stereoscopy is implemented in Red Eclipse.
Head-tracking: don't think so

#13899: Static 3D Models |

I am recreating the old DOS game of Wolfenstien3D and have collected a bunch of md2 and md3 models that I would like to add.
My OS is Ubuntu Linux and I have Blender 2.57.1 installed. I am not that experienced with Blender, hence this request.
Does anybody have, or know of, a step-by-step tutorial for adding md2, md3 and obj static 3D models? Anything about skins and masks would be good also.
Many thanks.

there is no /newent flag wouldn't work. it should spawn a flag entity to the center of your selection

And remember, while the entity should be there and you should see the sparklies, the actual flag will only be there in a flag gamemode (e.g. ctf).

http://sauerbraten.org/docs/models.html
here you find what you need...
Maybe this tutorial to create an obj-model out of sauerbraten's own geometry isn't a bad guide either:
http://quadropolis.us/node/3006
Maybe another usefull node is this:
http://www.quadropolis.us/node/105
Especially read the comments, they are more usefull...

Is it possible to make mod for Cube2 with zombies and survivals? Popular theme, but fun. It is very interested in fact of that Cub2 have easy editor to make more long, different, dark and puzzle maps for surviving (look and half-life 1/2 mods with zombies).
Or you scared? :)

Awwwww, what a cute idea. Perhaps you should stick to Left 4 Dead for now, or Resident Evil. For even if you manage to make a good looking dark map for that job, the lighting of models won't work all that well. And then you have to find suitable models, and practically no one shares good models for free or with suitable licences. You'd also have to configure AI behavior and make animations.
I could go on and make a whole list of what you'd need to add, make and adjust just for a mod like this, but i'll just leave you disappointed.

#13909: Missing files? |

My friend just downloaded sauerbraten for Windows, and ran into some trouble with alleged "missing files", making the game unplayable. As I run mac, I cannot test this to see what the problem is.
I was wondering if perhaps the download file is cracked or if there is a problem on our end. has anybody else had an issue with this?
