I just got this and replaced my old Sauerbraten. I'm trying to get to the SP mode so I can edit my maps but I can't seem to find it. Can anyone help?

"SP" mode (with monsters, triggers, doors, etc working) is "mode -2" (regular singleplayer) and "mode -3" (DeathMatch SinglePlayer).
I guess your aiming for "coop-edit", wich is "mode 1".
When starting up sauerbraten, simply press /map map_name (if spaces inside the name, use "").

Okay, I have been searching through the scripts for the pieces that control
1) How much damage a weapon does
2) What model, if any, is created upon firing, and
3) What hudgun is used
and I cannot find it to save my life! Where are these elusive, essential bits of code?

"Packages/models/hudguns", "packages/models/vwep", any playermodel in the "models" folder (wich is choosable, so not monsters), "hudguns" folder...
Good luck.

Thanks! Took a look through there, but I didnt see anything for weapon damage or anything.
must be right under my nose.
anyway, don't worry about cheatmods from me. I plan on using this information to make a demo of a concept that has been going through my mind. It will never see the sauer servers.

Hi, if your reading this, eihrule, I would like the ability to have auth codes to games. I believe I may deserve it, since I've played since the first Cube, as well as I'm not alloud to make servers due to my parents telling me I can't. Also, Since my starting time, I haven't been abusive to master controls at any time. The only time I kick and ban people from servers (open which master is free) is when people are mean, rude, or ruin peoples maps.
Please consider

It's eihrul. plus, do you think your worth auth because you played cube 1? i played cube 1 too, and for a long time when i was a kid at that. plus i played sauer much longer than you, i have modded for sauer and other cube engine related games, you having auth is like pouring a bottle of water into the sea, it doesn't help, and then we have a new person to sauer that has auth. hell, i deserve auth more than you for so many different reasons, a am on old player, i have never abused master/admin, i keep the peace, i can be friendly, and i have my head on my shoulders. plus i have never asked for auth because i believe that is over-stepping my bounds, and that if eihrul were to hand auth to me, he'd come to me and ask me if i wanted it/was ok with having it. see my point? now get fragging. XD

There doesn't seem to be any shortage of auth folk online.. Maybe if you ran a popular server and were well known then you might be granted auth.
To tell a story: I don't recall asked for auth, I believe eihrul just asked me to test a new feature one day... and now I'm stuck with a particular auth name. Heh, would you trust a rabbit?

I think you should ask "would you trust sub-zero?" :P
Point is sub, your many cases of being "non helpful" (even an outright ass for no good reason) would make pretty much anyone reluctant to give you auth.
But, you also have a rightful point there. One who had power 10 years ago and left because of business cannot just be given back that power because he just had it, he has to prove his worth yet again.
Apart from the metaphors, it's nothing personal PMAN, just business. ^_^

Hi everyone,
I have a PC with an ATI 4670HD gfx-card and Ubuntu 10.04 as well as Windows 7 installed. Resolution is 1680*1050.
While Sauerbraten runs good on Windows 7 on all maps I have drops in FPS (< 40 FPS) in Ubuntu with fglrx installed. Namely those maps are shipwreck, bt_falls and infamy.
I tried to turn on and of some options in the gfx menu and found the following:
- shipwreck: here the FPS drop while swiming in the water. Turning of "animation" while having turned on all other options for water fixes the problem.
- bt_falls: here the FPS drop while looking on waterfalls. Turning off "reflection" while having turned on "refraction" and "caustics". "Animation" is turned off because of the shipwreck problem.
- infamy: I didn't find a solution here. Frames drop especially while runing on this "brigde" (don't know how to name it) where the flag is.
So... my question is, if someone has an idea what could cause those drops in FPS on those maps with fglrx as this problem does not exist with Windows 7 as far as I remember. I mean, I see that the problem is with fglrx and not with Sauerbraten (as it works with Windows 7) but I can't see why especially "animation" seems such a problem with fglrx on shipwreck as it is marked as green and therefore shouldn't be that heavy demanding on my gfx-card, right?

Perhaps i'm of little help, and probably won't be on any more than that, but are you certain that your card's drivers are working as they should? Lately i've been hearing a handful of reports of how the ati drivers have problems on ubuntu systems, so it could be case.
