Another thing I've seen before about that invulnerability might be interesting too: after spawning you are invincible (as discussed before), BUT when you shoot is it instantly over, even when you actually still had some time left.

An alternative idea would it to block own weapons in that time.

I like the idea that as soon as you shoot your invincibility goes away. But I don't think that blocking all weapon use would work well. Then campers would just wait until the 2 or 3 seconds are up and kill you (since you can't fight back while they're waiting). If campers memorize the timing then the problem is just as bad as when it started.

3 seconds may be a long time, but usually it takes me 2 seconds to get a bead on you after you respawn (which is after a fraction of a second it takes me to realize you respawned.) so 3 seconds isn't all that far-fetched. I fall into the category of "average," in that my aim isn't dead-on most of the time, but accurate enough that I can end up in the top 5 players on my team consistently.

When I play this game, my fps drops so low, and it lags like crazy! I can\'t stand it and I just want to play the game without my character running all jittery and slow. Can anyone help me fix this problem? I\'d appreciate it.Thanks.

I guess a weapon block for a predefined time would be nice. So this would be implemented:

- Invulnerability for X seconds
- Unable to use weapons in these X seconds
- Both only optional.

It would be better to make the time individually adaptable. So I guess if someone makes such a mod, it is best to show on Quadropolis?

Best way how I think is to implement this directly into the server (are there possibilities to modify it external?) so its not miss useful by certain Individuals, which it would be if it is client side.

I wanted to run Sauerbraten in windowed mode, and before looking up the proper code to put in, I've edited the shortcut - properties and added -w. All that did was blur my graphics? So I took that out and the graphics were better...I put in the proper code -t and it now opens in a verrry small window. I took the -t out and it still opens in a small window. I've uninstalled & reinstalled Sauerbraten hoping to fix this problem, yet it still does it?? Any ideas as to what may fix this problem?

Try using -t AND -h AND -w

The -t option runs in windowed mode, but you still need to tell it what dimensions to set that window.

So if you want 800x600 window for example,
use -t -w800 -h600

If you are trying to play online, the problem could be insanely high ping. The ping number is like a golf score: the lower, the better. about 100 is pretty stable. if you are consistently over 300, get a better connection.

However, if this is not the problem, or you are trying to play Single Player modes, your problem is probably wimpy graphics support. Try turning off all the yellow and red options in the 'gfx' tab in options. heck, try turning off a few of the green ones while you are at it.

Hopefully this will solve your problems.

I didn't think this was newsworthy enough to post as its own thread, so I'm posting it here. Perhaps somebody remembers my horrible map and wants to relive those days with some awesome pakouring? I don't know. haha

I know there are already pretty much shaders settings on sauerbraten, but I would like to ask, how do you set a causticshader or watershader on a texture (without loading the texture on a material, so just on plain geometry)?
