I'm trying to get a server running for a LAN party, but I can only connect to the server from the computer actually running it. No where else. If I port scan the default ports (which are what I'm using), nothing comes up.
The beginner's tutorial didn't help, nor did any of the reference docs. What am I missing?
This behavior has been duplicated on two different machines, one running OS X, the other Ubuntu.

Well hey guys, I'm new to this whole Sauerbraten thing and I'm curious as to why a problem of mine keeps happening. I'm making a SP map and when I place the enemy entities, save the map and re-load it the monsters haven't spawned and the entities marking where they would spawn are gone too. Is this because I'm saving it as a temp map?

I found a couple brief references to insta-capture, which sounds fun, but I don't see anything official about it. Is there/will there ever be insta capture?
Also this forum design is really confusing. ._.

Try doing /instacapture to find out. And though this forum's design has been protested, it loads near-instantly and does what it says it does.

Downloading Sauerbraten doesnt work. I downloaded it and it says \\\"cannot find core textures\\\" when I start it.

Unlikely. The iPod touch version is unofficial, and you can use the x2 button to get an approximation.

People who follow me on twitter would know that the iPad version is mostly done, ditto iphone 4 resolution support. They would also know that I currently have low motivation to finish as there is no financial benefit. - Programmers must eat sometimes.
I cut down version of cube 2 has also be partially trialled, but again, the amount of work required to finish is prohibitive when I have real paying work to do instead.

How do you set up a rig for an iqm compatible model?
I had a look at the mrfixit it .blend and while it is a very unconventinal rig it seems like you need to have the hips/lower body and the torso/upper body seperatly linked to a root bone (that moves the entire body)? Is that done for animation blending? And how should it be set up exactly?
Also are there other things to keep in mind, for example for the ragdolls etc?

This has nothing to do with IQM compatibility. Having the upper and lower body separate makes it easier to manipulate the skeleton in general, i.e. allowing to bend at the waist easily without affecting the lower body, or vice versa. It's just how geartrooper happened to rig it, but it has worked out for the best.

So this rig separation is not needed for the automatic animation blending in Cube2? How does it recognize which bones should react to mouse movement? Special bone names?
Sorry but the wiki is not very helpful in that regard, and the example rig does not really explain what to do.

It's all configured in the .cfg file. Which bones are used are not hard-coded in the engine. See md5pitch, md5animpart, etc. and friends, which are documented in models.html.

I doubt that most of you play the Cube port on iPhone but I was wondering if anyone knew how to get the multiplayer to work. Whenever I join one of the three or four servers that show up the game tells me that the servers are all using a "different cube protocol."

You can't play it, game got modified for iphone, and the support is now died, no longer updates.
