#1226: This is great.

I can\'t believe this game. Extremely good.
I\'ve been a pretty elite QuakeWorld player (beat LakermaN once :o)

Anyway, the gameplay is great, most maps are pretty decent and best off all: I\'m playing on a modem and the server i played on with 3 other guys (decibel.something.something.fi) felt like playing on a LAN.
Truly great.

And only 8mb, omg wtf! :o.

Most impressive.

#1234: Porting ?

by Al_Capone on 02/13/2003 02:49

Aard, you ever thought of porting the map editing into crystal space ?

no. crystal space and cube are such entirely different kinds of 3d engine that that wouldn't make sense at all. Besides, I am not that impressed with crystal space, I see no use for enhancing its map editing.

#1241: kinda strange problem

by pavel jackoff on 02/14/2003 05:08

hi there,

i recently downloaded cube and tried to play it under linux. it really looks great and starts up fine, but then...
i get 150-600 fps, depending on the config, but the game (singleplayer) lags like hell. i just can move in small "boosts" through the levels, about once a second the game freezes for some mseconds which makes the game totally unplayable.
my machine is an athlon t-bird 1.4 with 512 mb ddr-ram and a geforce2 pro under suse linux 8.1 (kernel 2.4.19) featuring kde 3.0.5a and sdl 1.2.4
anybody knows help?

thanks,
pavel

#1244: BeOS & Simple DirectMedia Layer

by RobotIntestines on 02/15/2003 12:43

Hello, if CUBE is written with Simple DirectMedia Layer, can games be compiled to run in BeOS?

BeOS will have full OpenGL support very soon.
